cookroom's larder is full of tasty and wholesome home baking and food that is produced using as many locally sourced and fair trade ingredients as possible.
Our aim is to provide food that is suitable for everyone and we have a very specific focus for people on a wheat or gluten free diet.
The food is prepared in the cookroom kitchen located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Not only does the food taste and look good but the views from the kitchen are stunning too!
Our resident cook, Morag, developed an intolerance to wheat and gluten and quickly realised there was a very limited choice of cakes, pastries, savoury tarts, snacks and main meals available to people with this food allergy.
Her ambition and challenge was to change this, resulting in the launch of cookroom in January 2008. By Summer 2008 cookroom had won a Great Taste One Star Gold Award for thei Madelines.
Since then, cookroom has expanded rapidly, supplying our products to customers direct, through deliveries and at farmers' markets; to a number of speciality food stores, farm shops and coffee shops; and even to a forthcoming BBC production!
In January 2009 cookroom exhibited at Scotland's Speciality Food Fair in the SECC, and in the summer of 2009 cookroom was awarded their second One Star Gold Award for their Whisky & Ginger Spiced Babas. Cookroom also became a member of the Scottish Association of Farmers' Markets.
A full list of stockists can be found on the 'Buying from Cookroom' page. Please note, however, that the cookroom kitchen is a production kitchen only, and we have no facilities there for visitors or customers!
